IECA-Approved Course: Advanced Erosion & Sediment Control Training (BPESC – 4-day Course)
Intended Audience and Learning Outcomes:
• A comprehensive and integrated course for practitioners.
• Based on the IECA Best Practice in Erosion and Sediment Control Manual (BPESC – 2025).
• Includes detailed coverage of the revised Appendix B (2018) including Type A and Type B sediment basins.
• This course is approved by the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) and covers the theory required for the Registered Soil Practitioners in Erosion and Sediment Control (RSP-ESC) online assessment exam (for more information on the RSP-ESC program see RSP-ESC at www.austieca.com.au).
• Presented by experienced, passionate, knowledgeable and engaging trainers; Bill Johnson and Kel Sanson.
Course Structure:
Participants can attend one, two, three or all four workshops, although must complete the previous workshops before attending the latter days. Registrations for single workshops 2, 3 and 4 will not be accepted unless the prior day’s workshops have been completed.
- Workshop 1: 17th November 2026. Introduces the fundamentals of erosion and sediment control framework as they apply to all sites.
- Workshop 2: 18th November 2026. Builds on workshop 1 and reviews the contents of the IECA Best Practice in Erosion and Sediment Control Manual (2025) and provides guidance, including the use of a flowchart, on how to use the manual for developments in South Australia.
- Workshop 3: 19th November 2026. Is all about water management on construction sites – sediment basins and diversion structures.
- Workshop 4: 20th November 2026. Gives participants the chance to practice designing and reviewing plans for erosion and sediment control on a range of different land uses (e.g. subdivisions, roads, high-density housing).

If making a group booking, the invoice for all attendees will be emailed to the first attendee listed at sign up.
If minimum numbers are not met to run the course, we will contact you and offer you a full refund of money paid, or the option to attend the course at one of the other advertised dates.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the event will receive a full refund.
For cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the evet, NO refund will be available.
Transfers due to illness or non-attendance will attract an administration charge of 12%.
